Russell Whitehead joins contractor this autumn

Multiplex is bringing in a director from engineer Robert Bird to take over as head of engineering at the contractor.

Russell Whitehead is joining the London tower builder this September to replace Kye Taylor who is leaving to help run structural engineering consultant BG&E, the Australian firm bought by Systra last autumn.

Taylor joined Multiplex four years ago from BG&E and is currently the contractor’s head of engineering and preconstruction.

Whitehead, who leads the building structures discipline in Robert Bird’s London office, has worked on several major tower schemes in the City including 100 Bishopsgate and One Leadenhall – both of which have been built by Multiplex.

Whitehead has been at Robert Bird since 2010.
