Scheme known as Vista due to complete in autumn 2029

Multiplex is taking over as main contractor on the £500m scheme to redevelop ITV’s former London headquarters on the South Bank.

In an update, Vista – the name given to the job – said Multiplex had moved onto site as main contractor having been on a PCSA since October 2024 when it won the rebid tender.

Lendlease originally won the scheme in May 2022 but two years later the firm was put up for sale by its Australian owner.

McGee has been working on the job since it restarted 18 months ago

Development manager CO-RE and funder Mitsubishi Estate decided on a plan B because of the uncertainty caused by Lendlease’s decision to sell up. The firm was eventually bought by private equity firm Atlas last year and renamed Bovis.

The job is Multiplex’s first for both CO-RE and Mitsubishi with completion slated for autumn 2029.

The update added: “McGee [which carried out demolition and is carrying out basement structures work] will be continuing their great progress to date under Multiplex’s management, with further subcontractors arriving on site the end of summer.”

Designed by Make Architects, others working on the job include including QS T&T Alinea, landscape architect Grant Associates and engineer Arup.

The 640,000sq ft scheme is creating new offices as well as space for local creative industries, alongside new cafes and restaurants, cultural venues and open green spaces.
