Michael Dyke appointed to head former Bovis business, filling position open since last summer

Lend Lease has lured National Grid’s director of UK construction to head up the part of the business formerly known as Bovis.

Michael Dyke (pictured) will become executive director of Lend Lease’s project management and construction business in the UK and across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will join the firm at the start of July.

Dyke’s appointment fills a role that had been vacant since last summer, when Lend Lease announced it would be parting company with Nick Pollard, former Bovis chief executive. Pollard’s departure was part of a restructure in which Dan Labbad was appointed chief executive of Lend Lease’s EMEA businesses.

The role of Bovis chief executive - which had reported back to the parent company in Australia - was replaced with a position that reported into Labbad.

At National Grid, Dyke, who has been involved in the industry for almost 25 years, was responsible for running the client’s construction programme in the UK.

Prior to joining National Grid, he held positions at EDF Energy, Balfour Beatty and Wimpey Construction, where he began his career.

Labbad said: “Michael brings with him vast strategic and large scale operational experience. His appointment at this time plays a key part in bringing our regional construction platform together and aligns with our strategy to grow a construction business that is dynamic, efficient, and highly competitive.”
