Barratt Redrow has said that incoming chief executive Dean Banks will start his new role in September.

The country’s biggest housebuilder announced the retirement of its long-time group chief executive David Thomas in March.

Dean Banks will take over from David Thomas

Since 2021, Banks has been serving as group chief executive at Ventia, an infrastructure provider working across Australia and New Zealand.

Thomas joined Barratt 17 years ago and became group chief executive 11 years ago, leading the firm through its recent merger with Redrow.

Barratt Redrow said Thomas will step down from board in September but will stay on until March next year as part of a handover plan.

Barratt Redrow is due to announce its full-year results on 16 September.
