Oxford college gets confirmation £500m scheme will go-ahead

Fletcher Priest-designed project had been called in by city council

A £500m scheme in Oxford being masterminded by the development arm of St John’s College has finally been given the all-clear after being called in by city councillors.

The council’s West Area planning committee had given the scheme the green light at the end of November but days after this decision the scheme was called-in after the authority’s rules on the call-in procedure were triggered when 13 councillors said the council needed a second look.
