University College Oxford and Fairfield Residential Trust have new student accommodation scheme OK’d

A student accommodation scheme planned for an Oxford conservation area has been given planning by the city council.

The landscape masterplan for the site, which is within the North Oxford Victorian Suburbs Conservation Area, was drawn up by LDA Design and features a 30-bed student accommodation scheme spread across six ‘pavilions’ and a 38-bed residential care home in north Oxford.

It will include landscaped gardens and outdoor seating areas as well as shared vegetable and herb gardens to encourage residents and students to socialise.

Other practices working on the scheme are Belsize Architects and Oxford Architects.

Work on site will start early next year. Clients on the scheme are University College Oxford and Fairfield Residential Trust.
