Scheme involves giving makeover to block designed by late Peter Foggo
Permasteelisa has been appointed to carry out façade refurbishment work on a £70m scheme to revamp a 1990s building in the City of London designed by the late Peter Foggo.
Mace was appointed in the spring to the job at 60 Queen Victoria Street with the cladding contractor being asked to remove the original façade from the nine-storey building, refurbish and reinstall it.
Permasteelisa’s Europe boss Jalal Fitoury said: “This is a significant refurbishment scheme right in the heart of the City. Circularity is central to our forward-looking strategy at Permasteelisa. We’re already working on a number of these types of schemes in London.”
The makeover of the building at 60 Victoria Street has been drawn up by Sheppard Robson which was given the green light for its plans by the City two years ago.
Development manager M3 Consulting said the new designs will retain the architectural character of the existing building while substantially improving its environmental performance and occupier experience.
Others working on the scheme include QS Exigere, project manager CBRE and M&E engineer Cundall. Facade engineer is Interface.
