Berkeley Group managing director Tony Pidgley's received a £1.1m bonus in the year to 30 April.
His salary package totalled £1.625m, compared with £737,892 last year. The company he co-founded in 1976 posted a record pre-tax profit of £178.1m.

Tony Carey, managing director of Berkeley's subsidiary St George, saw his pay package more than double to £1.16m, while chairman Roger Lewis' salary rose from £361,571 to £1.015m.

Carey and Lewis received bonuses of £625,000 under Berkeley's long-term executive incentive scheme. This boosted their total bonus payments to £868,973 and £725,253 respectively.

Pidgley's son, Tony Pidgley Jnr, who left the group in April, was the next highest paid director. He was received £537,682, compared with £411,924 the year before. Berkeley's total payments to directors rose from £3.3m to £6.1m, including £3.3m in bonuses.
