Report indicates decline in private housing orders for the year to November

There has been a decline in private housing orders in the 12 months to November 2007, according to latest figures from the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR).

Figures for the year to November show a 3% fall compared to those in the previous 12 months.

Orders in the three months to November rose by 11% compared with the previous three months, but fell by 10% compared with the same period a year earlier.

Public housing and housing association orders rose by 3% in the 12 months to November compared with the previous year.

Total construction orders in the period rose by 1% compared with the previous year, and 5% in the three months to November compared with the same period the previous year.
