Roofing specialist Redland has introduced a PV system suitable for existing roofs with a rafter width as little as 35mm.

Called the On-Top PV System, the company says some PV systems from the continent weren’t suitable for roofs with narrow rafters, it says German rafter widths were typically 80-100mm.

The system is suitable for most pitched roofs clad with either slates or tiles. It is available in two versions, a mono-crystalline panel with a maximum output of 180W or a polycrystalline panel with a maximum output of 220W.
