The University of Hertfordshire has completed its de Havilland campus in Hatfield. The £120m development is one of largest for a university in half a century. It comprises four academic buildings serving 4000 students, 1600 student residences and a sports complex. A learning resources centre (pictured), is linked to the other academic buildings and a 460-seat auditorium by an internal street. The residence and sports buildings were developed by Carillion, with Austin-Smith:Lord as architect. The academic buildings were designed by RMJM, with Turner & Townsend as project manager and SKM as structural engineer.
