John Atkins will be the European representative on RICS QS global board

RICS has appointed EC Harris’ country leader for Germany to its QS and construction global board.

John Atkins will be the European representative on the board, which sets the strategic direction for the future of the QS specialism. 

He has also taken on the role of developing and leading the strategy for RICS Europe’s built environment professional groups which include project management, QS, construction and building surveying. 

Atkins will be responsible for establishing a built environment professional group community across continental Europe and the development of professional guidance and governance to members. He will be supported in this role by a team of volunteers from companies across Europe. 

Atkins said: “RICS is in a unique position in our industry, and I want to ensure that being a member of RICS continues to be valuable and relevant throughout a member’s professional career by strengthening the professional group community across Europe.”

RICS has a total of 17 professional groups. Their responsibilities include guidance and standards internationally, contributing to policy formation, quality control and providing specialist and research information.
