Matthew Sumpter has been appointed as Ridge & Partners’ new cost management partner for the South East

Prior to this he was project director for mixed-use schemes in the capital, following stints as an associate director and several quantity surveying roles.

Ridge partner and London office chief Murray Farrant said Sumpter’s appointment would help the “drive our vision to grow into these sectors”.

Sumpter said there was “plenty of work to go after” in the South East, adding: “The commercial market is buoyant, having picked up post-covid. Residential remains active, with London’s prime residential extremely attractive to overseas investors, and we’re also seeing a return for hotels and hospitality – which were hit hardest by the pandemic.”

He also sits on the South East committee of the British Council for Offices and is a member of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.

Meanwhile, Gleeds has brought back a former director at its London office as its new head of regeneration.

Natascha McIntyre-Hall has returned to the firm following a stint as assistant director of strategic developments with Portsmouth City Council.
