Consultant project manager, QS and CDM co-ordinator on £3m revamp scheme
Consultant Rider Levett Bucknall has been appointed to reorganise significant areas of London Euston railway station.
The £3m works include rearranging the existing ticket hall to better suit an increased flow of customer footfall; enlarging the main First Class lounge and adapting a second lounge to improve the service of disabled passengers; and conversion of existing offices to provide accommodation and office space for train crew.
RLB will provide a full range of project management, QS and CDM co-ordination works throughout the life of the project.
Gary Edgington, RLB senior project manager, said: “The team at Rider Levett Bucknall is excited to be working with Virgin Trains as part of this high-profile and ambitious project in what is an ever-expanding market sector”.
The project will be undertaken within strict budgetary and time constraints, and involves co-ordination with numerous Stakeholders in one of the capital’s primary rail links with the Midlands and the North.
Work commenced on site in December 2008 and is expected to complete in May 2009.
