The British Film Institute has appointed Balfour Beatty’s Mansell to refurbish its National Film Theatre on London’s South Bank.

The £4.5m project will provide additional facilities including purpose-built viewing stations for small groups, a walk-in studio cinema and a gallery space. The refurbishment will also relocate the NFT’s main entrance and box office to the east side of the building, opposite the National Theatre. The scheme is due for completion early this autumn. The QS is Turner & Townsend; project manager is Hornagold & Hills.
