Ian Eggers led company’s early work on the Shard

Senior Mace director Ian Eggers, who led the company’s early work on the Shard, is to leave the firm after 18 years.

Eggers, who was most recently Mace’s director responsible for construction management services and a member of the company’s strategic board for construction, will leave at the end of the month. It is understood that he intends to set up his own project management company.

Since joining Mace in 1994, shortly after it was formed, Eggers has taken a central role on many of the company’s most high-profile schemes, including More London, City Hall and the Shard. He also set up Mace’s first major construction management project - one of the world’s largest casino complexes for the Sands Corporation in Macau, China, through a joint venture with Hsin Chong Construction Group.

A Mace spokesperson said: “Ian Eggers has decided that it is time to pursue new opportunities in the industry. We wish him the very best.”
