Move part of push to grow M&E firm’s workloads in capital
M&E contractor SES has opened a standalone London office in the City.
The firm has previously been based in the capital at parent Wates’ main London office at Drummond Street in Euston but has now moved to Portsoken House in Aldgate.
Rob Clifford, executive managing director of SES, said: “The opening of our first dedicated London office is an important milestone for SES and a clear statement of our ambition in one of the UK’s most dynamic construction markets.
“Portsoken House will help us attract the very best talent, support collaboration across our teams and provide a platform for future growth.”
Clifford has previously said he wants to grow the firm’s London business with the firm’s presence in the capital and the South of England running to around 150 employees.
In April, SES said that Wates’ former head of its construction business Mark Tant had been appointed interim boss of its business in the South.
Tant left Wates in autumn 2023 but returned as interim boss of the South after incumbent Darren Wilson was appointed commercial director at the wider SES business and promoted to its board.
SES is set to see turnover top £550m when it publishes its 2025 numbers at Companies House soon.
