Steelwork contractor Severfield has turned to Manchester Airports Group to fill a newly created role of chief commercial officer.

Terry Fitzmaurice arrives from MAG where he was group procurement and contracts director.

He will report directly to chief executive Paul McNerney and sit on the firm’s executive committee.

Terry Fitzmaurice will sit on Severfield’s executive committee

Severfield said: “His remit will span the Group’s commercial, procurement and estimating functions, with a focus on driving the disciplined delivery of Severfield’s recently announced strategy. Terry brings a sharp client focus and will help ensure that we deliver on their behalf.”

In its last set of results, Severfield saw pre-tax losses increase from £17.5m to £39.9m in the year to 28 March on turnover up 1% to £454m.

The firm is due to announce interim results in November.
