Work will see 150,000 sq ft of space created
Sheppard Robson has been given the green light by Glasgow planners to double the size of an existing office building in the city.
Called 150 St Vincent, the 1970s block will be increased from 70,000 sq ft to around 150,000 sq ft with a basement, ground level and nine upper storeys.
The existing building will be stripped back to the concrete frame with a single-storey rear extension knocked down and a 10-storey replacement put in its place.
The building was built in 1976 as the headquarters for finance and pensions firm Scottish Amicable with the site bought by Clearbell Property at the end of 2021.
Others working on the scheme include cost consultant Thomas & Adamson, M&E engineer Atelier Ten, structural engineer Woolgar Hunter and planning and heritage consultant Iceni.
Last month, work to start on a £100m office scheme in Glasgow by local practice Cooper Cromar was given the green light after originally being given the thumbs-up more than five years ago.
McLaughlin & Harvey is main contractor on the 33 Cadogan Street scheme which is being developed by Commercial Estates Group.
