Phase 3C of job will include 300 flats designed by Frank Gehry

Sisk has been confirmed as main contractor for phase 3C of the Battersea Power Station redevelopment.

Phase 3C, which is believed to be worth around £280m, includes two buildings of 15-storeys, featuring more than 300 flats, as well as shops, cafés and restaurants and a 15,000sq ft community hub. Earlier phases of the residential scheme at Battersea have been carried out by Sir Robert McAlpine.

The new blocks will sit alongside architect Frank Gehry’s existing resi buildings at the site

The two new Gehry Partners’-designed buildings will form an extension to the existing ‘crinkly’ buildings at the Prospect Place area of the development.

Sisk, which is understood to be in talks with Leeds United about building the first part of the Premier League club’s Elland Road redevelopment, has worked extensively at the Wembley Park residential development where new Battersea chief executive James Saunders spent 18 years when he was at Quintain.

Last weekend, the first public consultation events were held for Studio Egret West’s masterplan for the final phases of work at the Battersea development.

The work covers the remaining 16 acres of the 42 acre site and has the potential to deliver up to 3.2 million sq ft of residential, commercial, cultural and leisure space.
