This opera house in Copenhagen is the new home of Denmark’s royal theatre.
Sound of music
The acoustic design was undertaken by Arup Acoustics in conjunction with architect Henning Larsens Tegnestue, and has a variable sound absorption system. This uses large fabric banners that extend into the room to reduce reverberation, providing optimum acoustics for modern electronic opera, musicals and ballet with amplified music. The building includes a 200-seat studio theatre and full-sized orchestral rehearsal room.
