Gales of 60 to 70mph are expected to cause damage in the UK today, as Dublin-based onstruction Industry Federation issues weather warning for Irish building sites.

The Met Office has warned that 60 to 70 mph winds on Wednesday could cause damage across Southwest England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Weather Watch says that the gusts could bring disruption to transport and uproot trees.

In Ireland the Construction Industry Federation in Ireland has issued a weather warning for construction sites and advised its members to notify staff and take appropriate action to minimise site incidents and structural damage.

It warns that with 70-80 mph gale force winds forecast for the next 48 hours members with sites close to public areas should make sure they have secured holdings, lighting and site access and exits.
