Architect Jestico + Whiles has unveiled this image of a 60 m high tower that will mark the mouth of the Thames estuary and the easterly limit of the Thames Gateway at Garrison point in Shoebury.

Dubbed "The Green Mark" to denote the starboard side of the estuary, it will have a cafe, 70 flats and a public square at its foot. Client for the £10m scheme is Southend-on-Sea council with developer Gladedale.
