Suite dreams: Ireland Taoiseach Bertie Ahern announced this week that London-based practice London Bloc Architects had won an open competition organised by the Royal Institute of Architects in Ireland to design street furniture for O'Connell Street in Dublin. The suite of furniture structures is repeated along the 550 m street, and will include two cafes, five retail units, two news stands and nine bus or taxi shelters. Engineer is Buro Happold and client is O'Connell Street Project Office.
