The £10.6m Wales National Pool in Swansea, which replaced the former 30-year-old Empire Pool in Cardiff, was opened this month. The 50 m international centre, designed by leisure and sport specialist Stephen Limbrick Associates, overlooks Swansea Bay. It will be the home of the Welsh Amateur Swimming Association and other bodies.

The construction team included project manager and QS Faithful & Gould, structural engineer Atkins and contractor Shepherd.
