M&E contractor bought last year by gas supplier Regent
T Clarke has said that revenue hit close to £850m in the 15 months to March this year, in accounts filed at Companies House.
The monthly turnover figure during the period works out at £56.5m compared to the £40.9m monthly revenue the firm posted in its last set of results as a listed firm when it filed a revenue of £491m for the year to December 2023.
In the results, the M&E specialist said pre-tax profit was up 4% to £16.3m – the equivalent of £1.08m a month, down from the £1.3m a month for the 12 months to December 2023.
The firm said £305m of revenue came from its engineering business with a further £297m from its data centre and offsite manufacturing work.
In a note accompanying the accounts, the firm said: “We will continue to maintain a strong presence in sectors that provide stable, recurring revenues such as in the public sector, while also building on our proven reputation for delivering complex commercial projects, particularly those beyond our traditional London base. We also aim to expand our footprint in the UK’s ‘Golden Triangle’, Oxford, Cambridge and London.”
It added that year-end cash was up from £17m to £40m.
More than 130 years of independence came to an end last summer when the firm was bought by gas supplier Regent.
The firm, which was set up in 1889 by Thomas Clarke and helped electrify Royal buildings including Windsor Castle and St James’s Palace, was bought for just over £90.5m.
