Thomasina Tobin had been at business more than five years
T&T Alinea has paid tribute to one of its directors who died on holiday last month.
Thomasina Tobin, 51, and her husband Patrick, 48, were on holiday with their two teenage children near Valencia in Spain when they were found dead in a jacuzzi.
According to reports in the Spanish media, they may have fallen victim to a rare phenomenon known as suction entrapment.
In a post on LinkedIn today, T&T Alinea said: “Thomasina played an integral role in our business, serving as a director in our London cost management team and leading our hotels sector. With over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, she was a highly respected figure in the hospitality sector and played a key role in the delivery of many of London’s most prestigious, complex and challenging hotel developments.
“Her expertise, passion for the industry and commitment to her clients were matched by the relationships she built along the way. Thomasina was generous with her knowledge and hugely supportive of those around her, making a lasting impact on our business, our clients and the wider industry.
“Warm, fun and full of life, Thomasina brought an infectious energy wherever she went. Her warmth and humour made her not only a highly respected colleague, but a much-loved friend to many across our business.
“Thomasina will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing and working with her. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
Tobin joined T&T Alinea in April 2021 and had previously worked for G&T, Sweett and Faithful & Gould.
Iain Parker head of London cost management at T&T Alinea, added: “All of our thoughts and prayers are with Thomasina’s family. She will be missed by many, many people.”
