Architects in running for gallery extension at Tate’s Cornish outpost include practice behind stalled 2005 design

A six-strong shortlist for the extension to Tate St Ives has been revealed.

Jamie Fobert Architects, which originally won the tender for the project’s design in 2005, is among the practices shortlisted.

Plans stalled because of local opposition and Tate St Ives had to re-tender because the client and site changed.

The six practices are: 6a architects, Amanda Levete Architects, DSDHA, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studio, Jamie Fobert Architects and Tony Fretton Architects.

The shortlisted practices will be interviewed in early 2012 by representatives from the Tate and local councils.
