Grimshaw has designed a $95m (£67m) golf course on top of a water filtration plant in New York

The architect has designed the plant’s above-ground structures and landscape, which incorporate a nine-hole golf course irrigated with ground and storm water. The 35-acre project has already been called “the largest green roof in the world”. Grimshaw has been working with landscape architect Ken Smith, structural engineers Ammann & Whitney and Dewhurst Macfarlane and services engineer Buro Happold. The project is expected to complete in 2012.
