The Birmingham architect was appointed by the Aspex Visual Arts Trust to convert the two-storey, red-brick Vulcan Building, which was built in 1814. The scheme supersedes Berkeley Homes’ application to convert the building into flats, which was rejected by Portsmouth council last year. The structural engineer is Giffords, services engineer is Ernest Griffiths and QS is Harris & Porter.
