Early reports indicate Emirates Road factory fell in high winds

Three building workers died when a building collapsed in Dubai on Thursday morning. A structure inside the 560ft² Dubai Industrial City on Emirates Road appears to have collapsed due to high winds. The three men killed were working on a wall about 8 metres high and 10 metres wide, according to local press. Three others were seriously injured.

They were working on a single-storey factory building made of glass and steel for client Dubai Industrial City, which is a member of developer Tatweer.

Hail and winds of up to 100kph battered Dubai last night.
