One of firm’s major subsidiaries won £38m Aberdeen Stadium contract

Northern Ireland-based Trench Holdings has reported a three-fold rise in annual profit to £2.2m for 2010.

The company, which is formed from a conglomerate of Scottish businesses, had an annual turnover of £254m for 2010, up from £171m in 2009. The company has managed to triple profit since 2009.

One of Trench Holdings major subsidiaries, Barr Construction last week won the £38m contract for the redevelopment of Aberdeen Stadium.

Barr will transform land at Loirston Loch into a 21,000-seat arena in consultation with Aberdeen council in time for kick-off of the 2013/14 season.

Barr Construction also built the 2012 Olympics basketball stadium in London. Barr owns the stadium and will lease it to the Olympic Delivery Authority for the duration of the 2012 Olympics.
