Architect Ushida Findlay and design consultant MIMAR Consult are drawing up detailed designs of a 6500 m2 Museum of Traditional Costumes and Textiles in the capital city of Qatar, Doha. It will be built at the ancient al-Koot Fort, conserving the building's fabric but inserting a new core. Most of the museum will be underground to the front of the fort, below a new urban space. Curatorial consultant on the project is Jacqueline Simcox, structural engineer is Fluid Structures, M&E engineer is XC02 and cost consultant is Boyden and Company.
