Helen Miles will join £4bn turnover housebuilder next year

Housebuilding giant Vistry has announced the appointment of Helen Miles as its new chief financial officer (CFO) and executive director.

Miles, currently CFO at FTSE 100 water company Severn Trent, will join the £4bn-turnover housebuilder in 2027.

Miles has worked for Severn Trent for 12 years, three as CFO. Before that she was CFO for home repairs company HomeServe and BT Group subsidiary Openreach.

Helen Miles will start next year, the firm said this morning

She is also on the board of construction materials firm Breedon Group.

Vistry also announced that Robert Allen, previously CFO at the Crown Estate and housebuilder Crest Nicholson, will join the housebuilder as interim CFO with immediate effect, until Miles’ arrival.

Previous CFO Tim Lawlor has stepped down after four years. Vistry in July said Lawlor was leaving to “pursue a CFO role in a different sector”.

The appointment of Miles marks the latest change at the top at Vistry. Former media company boss Rob Woodward became chair in May and Adam Daniels took on the chief executive role in April, succeeding long-time boss Greg Fitzgerald.

Daniels has outlined a plan to restructure Vistry to make it smaller and simpler, with 12 regions instead of 25 and delivering around 12,000 homes a year instead of the 15,000 it delivered last year. This followed its £660m pre-tax loss for the six months to end of June.
