Wates has appointed George Mosey as managing director of its London construction business.

He joined the business in March last year as UK operations director and Wates said it had begun the search for his replacement.

Wates Construction executive managing director Steff Battle said: “Since stepping into the role on an interim basis, George has brought strong leadership and a clear sense of direction for the Construction London team.

“His ability to build momentum has been evident, and I am delighted to confirm his appointment on a permanent basis and to see his energy and focus continue to drive the business forward.”

Before he arrived at Wates in 2024, Holbrook worked at Skanska leaving the business in late 2023 drawing a line under a career at the contractor that began in 1995.
