Acquisitive Cardo buys Merthyr Tydfil-based electrical business for undisclosed sum making it 14th deal in past three years
Acquisitive housing maintenance specialist Cardo has bought another firm, this time snapping up EFS Systems (UK) Ltd, a specialist electrical and solar installation and maintenance business based in South Wales.
Merthyr Tydfil -based EFS carries out work across the commercial, industrial and renewable sectors. It has around 75 employees.
The firm, which was set up in 2003, will continue to operate under its existing leadership team headed by managing director Robert Hadley, Cardo said.

Cardo chief executive Liam Bevan added: “Rob and the EFS Systems team have been trusted partners of mine for over 10 years and we’ve worked closely with them on projects for a wide range of clients during that time.”
Last year, Cardo, which is based in Cardiff, acquired parts of collapsed firm Breyer Group, which specialised in roofing, repair and refurbishment services, while it picked up Osborne’s property services business in September 2023. In all, it has picked up all or parts of 14 businesses in the past three years.
In its last set of results for the year to February 2025, Cardo improved turnover 73% to £145m and saw pre-tax profit climb from £1.2m to just over £5m.
