Firms to claim prizes include Multiplex, Kier and Turner & Townsend
Some of the biggest names in the industry walked away with the coveted prizes from the 2025 Building Awards.
At the ceremony, Multiplex won the Major Contractor of the Year Award and Retrofit Project of the Year – Modern, while Turner & Townsend picked up the prize for Construction Consultant of the Year (100 staff or over) for the second time in five years.

HMP Millsike – entered by Kier with Pick Everard and the Ministry of Justice – also earned two titles, being handed the MMC Award and Net Zero Award.
Hosted by comedian Dara Ó Briain, the ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel in London’s Mayfair tonight (4 November) was attended by more than 1,000 people who were able to congratulate the winners (full list below).

Chloë McCulloch, editorial director at Building, said: “These awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of companies and individuals driving excellence across the construction industry.
“The judges were impressed by their commitment to quality in the face of ongoing market challenges. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners.”
Other winners included Katy Dowding, the chief executive and president of Skanska UK, who claimed the gong for CEO of the Year.
The CEO and Client of the Year prizes are chosen from shortlists compiled by nominations from industry and the judging panel, with the University of Cambridge winning the client award.
Turner & Townsend Alinea won the Digital Excellence Award, while Quartz Project Services was named the Construction Consultant/Surveyor of the Year (fewer than 100 staff).
Plot 9a First Street by Cundall was named as the Building Magazine Project of the Year.
