Bolt-on acquisitions bring total spending by materials firm to £571m since August.

Materials supplier Wolseley has made four acquisitions worth a total £63m, taking its total acquisition spend since August to £571m.

The company has acquired US suppliers K&A Lumber Company and Dixie Plumbing Supply, French wood product supplier Centrale Reolaise des Bois and Centrale des Materiaux, a specialist generalist builders' merchant.

Wolseley chief executive Charlie Banks said: "We are delighted to announce these new acquisitions which take our total spend for the year so far to a record £571 million. These bolt-on acquisitions will further strengthen our presence in Europe and North America and they support our strategy of growing the business through acquisition and organic growth."
