Order book in excess of £700m

International consultant WSP has posted pre-tax profits of £27.5m for its full year results, a leap of 35%. The figures, for the year to 31 December 2006, compared with £20.3m for the year ended 2005. Turnover rose 20% to £449.4m across the same period. The firm, whose current projects include work on towers 2 and 3 at the Ground Zero site in New York, also reported an order book in excess of £700m.

Chairman David Turner said: “WSP Group has had an excellent year in all respects and I am very pleased to be reporting such strong financial results. These are exciting times for the Group, with opportunities for growth in all our areas of business.”
