White Young Green, the multidisciplinary engineering consultancy and project manager, has snapped up Cassells, a consultancy offering health, safety and management services.

The consideration is £791 000 – a cash payment of £158 200 and the issue of 353 125 ordinary shares in WYG.

Leicester-based Cassells, composed of Cassells (UK) and Cassells (Ecosse), reaped a pre-tax profit of £126 870 on a turnover of £702 679 in the year to 31 December 1999.

Bill Cassells, managing director of Cassels, joins WYG as director of health and safety services.
