Intruder alarms

ADE has launched an intruder alarm panel – designated the Captiv8-256 – that can comfortably accommodate up to 256 zones, rendering it suitable for both medium-sized and larger scale commercial applications.

The alarm panels may be used with any signal technology, and even a mix of technologies, whether conventional closed loop, single or double end of line, radio or iDPlus technology. A flexibility that makes the panels ideal for use in those premises where an existing security installation needs to be updated or extended.

The standard version of Captiv8-256 covers eight through to 32 zones. End users may increase zone coverage by deploying memory cards that provide the panel with additional zone capability from 32 to 128 and then 256 zones. The zone expanders are connected to the control panel data bus and are fully compatible with the different signal technologies. They’ll also allow the connection of extra devices.

For ease of use, up and downloading (UDL) software is supplied to facilitate easy programming and subsequent faultfinding and maintenance.

In use, Captiv8-256 provides for the partitioning of up to 14 areas covered by the system, 16 wards and up to 128 shunt groups. With memory expansion and the appropriate access controller, up to 16 doors may be controlled with up to 500 users programmed into the system. In addition, the same key fobs used to alarm/disarm the system can be used with proximity readers for access control purposes.

The panel contains an entry date/time stamped log that may accommodate up to 2,000 entries at any given time.
