Laing Homes southeast Thames has a new construction director. Michael Black joins the company from the Berkeley Group, where he was construction director for Berkeley Homes west London.
Surrey-based housebuilder Croudace Homes has made two appointments. Russell Denness has been promoted to sales and marketing director and Steve Harris has been appointed sales manager.
Shepherd Engineering Services has appointed Ian Voce its new IT manager. Voce joins SES from Turner & Townsend, where he was the group IT manager.
Pascale Guesdon has been appointed projects researcher at Birmingham-based chartered surveyors Blizzards. Guesdon's appointment is a temporary research assignment, and she will be investigating trends in construction industry disputes.
Rob Harris has left Wimpey Homes to set up his own consultancy. Harris Associates will provide advice to developers and contractors on social housing requirements. Harris was previously social housing manager at Wimpey.
Construction chemicals manufacturer Fosroc has made three appointments. John Bowry joins the company as the regional sales manager for southern England. Nick Smith is the new area sales manager, covering Berkshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and north London. David Wylie joins as specification manager, with responsibility for supplying information on concrete protection and repair products to consulting engineers and architects in the London area.
David Roberts has joined Bovis Lend Lease Consulting. Based in Manchester, Roberts' responsibilities include client project management, consultancy work and developing services. Roberts joins Bovis from Citex, where he was regional director.
Law firm Bevan Ashford has promoted two members of staff in its construction teams. Duncan Weir and Stephen Homer have both been made partners, in Bristol and Exeter respectively.
Colin Henderson is the new financial director and company secretary of the Building Centre Group. His appointment follows the retirement of chief operating officer Robin Owens.
The National House Building Council has made two appointments to its board. Richard Lay and Malcolm Harris replace Bernard Hunt and Frank Eaton. Lay is a former chairman and now consultant to DTZ Holdings, and Harris is group chief executive of Bovis Homes.
Tim Simpson is has been appointed chairman of the Association of Consulting Engineers. Simpson, engineering director of consultant Haswell, hopes to move the role of engineering consultant up the supply chain during his tenure.
The British Cement Association has appointed Pal Chana as its engineering programme director. Chana was previously technical director in the construction division of the Building Research Establishment.
