Phoenix Electrical, NIS and Elequip Projects have all been given special mention in a study highlighting the best firms in electrical contracting.
Plimsoll Publishing's study of 2000 contractors has revealed the top 50 trading partners.

Plimsoll has looked for a combination of a strong balance sheet, good profitability and sound cash control. Last year, these top 50 companies grew by over 27% on average compared to the industry average of 8·7%. Profit margins at 3·9% on average were also well above the industry norm of 3·1%.

Phoenix Electrical achieved the biggest market share increase last year. Sales increased by over £25 million.

NIS was singled out for showing the biggest turnaround in profit margin. NIS now holds a 4·4% profit margin on sales of over £14 million.

Elequip deserved special praise for increasing sales by over 26%.
