Boldly hailed as nothing other than a 'revolution' in CCTV technology, the latest system development by Midlands-based Screenwatch offers the potential for 'guarding' any building anywhere in the world from a single location.
Screenwatch works by connecting cameras to ISDN lines that remain open 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Live pictures are beamed back to a central Control Room in Birmingham city centre, where a dedicated operating team monitors the images (which may then be split into dozens of smaller images).
When the automated cameras detect movement the smaller images immediately expand to fill the screen, helping officers to monitor security incidents.
