1. Reach for the Sky
Daikin has introduced the Sky Air Super Inverter series of single-phase, R407C heat pump, split air conditioning systems. Units are suitable for light commercial applications and are available in capacities from 6·9 kW to 12·1 kW cooling and 7·8 kW to 13·7 kW heating.
Increased evaporation capacity stems from a newly developed super-cooling e-bridge refrigeration circuit which initiates super cooling prior to the start of the expansion cycle, maximising cops in both cooling and heating modes.
2. All in one
Multi-service chilled beams from Trox UK integrate standard components within a bespoke architecturally designed casing. Suitable for fixing to or suspending from the concrete soffit units can incorporate light fittings, sprinkler heads, pa speakers, smoke detectors, pir sensors, bems cables, and voice and data cables.
The unit is prefabricated off-site and is literally plug and play. It is suitable for the refurbishment of buildings with low floor to ceiling heights as the required slab to slab height for the chilled beam is 2·8m.
3. Precise thinking
Canatal Systems has introduced its Series 6, 8 and 9 Precision air conditioning units. The Series 6 has tight temperature and humidity control and is suited to environmental management of electronic equipment. Series 8 units range in size from 22 kW to 35kW and have cooled, glycol cooled or chilled water options. Series 9 covers 10 models from 22 kW to 110 kW. Units incorporate testing and diagnostic utilities.
4. Cat can do
Dunham Bush has revealed the second new product from the Big Cat range of fan coil units. The Cougar slimline horizontal chassis is 180 mm deep and has been designed to fit in shallow ceiling voids. It is available in seven model sizes with cooling capacities ranging from 0·5 kW to 8 kW.
The use of a high performance, low noise external rotor fans combined with the mounting design ensures that low acoustic levels can be achieved when ceiling space is at a premium.
5. Well evolved
Ability Projects has introduced a series of dc-driven two and four pipe fan coil units. The Evolution range is a fan coil/motor package which utilises ebm-Ziehl's latest dc brushless motor technology.
The company claims significant increases in motor efficiency can be expected from the motors, which operate at typically 95% efficiency. Further economies can be made, as heat generated by the dc motor is negligible.
