At the President’s Awards Dinner, held at the Apothecaries’ Hall, London on 14 October, awards were presented for papers published in building services engineering research and technology.
The Napier Shaw Bronze Medal was awarded to Dr J A Wright, Dr R A Buswell and P Haves for their paper, ‘Model-Based Conditioning Monitoring of an HVAC Cooling Coil Sub-System in a Real Building’. Dr Wright and Dr Buswell are at Loughborough University, while Mr Haves is with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the USA. Dr Buswell was present to receive the award.
The Carter Bronze Medal was awarded to Prof J A Swaffield and Dr J A McDougall of Heriot Watt University, for their paper ‘The Influence of Water Conservation on Drain Sizing for Building Drainage Systems’. Prof Swaffield was present to receive the award.
