RMJM has won an international design competition for a high-rise development in Ekaterinburg in central Russia, the country’s fifth-largest city

The 100m tower will include 46,000m2 of apartments, a hotel, and a “vertical park” through its core with another park at the top.

Matt Cartwright, director of RMJM, said: “Extreme climates in summer and winter prohibit many people from enjoying public parks and spaces. We decided to bring the outdoors inside.”

The development will form the heart of a new art, cultural and sports quarter.
