More than 90 per cent of the public and housing professionals believe that sheltered housing has a key role in maintaining and improving the health of older people.
This was the finding of a study launched by ERoSH – the National Consortium for Sheltered Housing – ahead of its national awareness week, which starts on 20 May.
The week’s theme will be health and independence.
More than 85 per cent of respondents believe their homes have a direct influence on their physical health, with 73 per cent agreeing that their current home had a positive effect.
