The parting "by mutual agreement" comes as SITO launches a number of training initiatives.
Under the STEPS programme, a range of specialist training providers will provide additional complementary programmes to those on offer directly from SITO.
Each STEPS provider will be approved by an industry panel, quality assured by SITO, with SITO also taking responsibility for administration and certification.
The first two STEPS partners will be Broadland Training, offering CCTV operative training; and Intuition, offering Investigative Human Resource programmes. A full portfolio of management and employment law topics are planned over the coming months.
Being a sector hub will help employees in the industry to access a range of training and learning opportunities in a variety of ways. Employees will be able to study on-site, at the office, or at home, and they will be able to control the pace of learning in a less threatening environment than the usual classroom environment. It will complementing SITO's computer-based training materials.
The aim of the Centre of Excellence would be to become the industry's focus for computer based learning, increasing the level and type of support available to security companies in these areas. The training uses on-line, electronic and multi-media systems eliminating the need to physically attend college.
