Quick-thinking, well-trained security officers from Gateshead-based contractor St James Security have received commendations for saving the life of a woman at the Gateshead MetroCentre.
The Tyneside woman, who had a history of heart problems, recently collapsed while shopping at the North East’s retail flagship. Trained in the use of defibrillator machines, the St James team gave essential life-saving treatment, resuscitating the woman three times. She later made a full recovery in hospital.
